Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Man with Van Kentish Town is committed to conducting all aspects of its removals and transport services in a manner that upholds the dignity, safety, and fundamental human rights of every person. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery within our own operations and throughout our supply chains.
We recognise that modern slavery can take many forms, including forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, exploitation, and child labour. While our business operates on a local scale, we understand that the risk of modern slavery can exist in any sector or geography, and we take active steps to identify and mitigate those risks.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Kentish Town maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, and any related exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with or support any individual, organisation, or business that is involved in such practices.
All directors, managers, employees, and contractors associated with Man with Van Kentish Town are expected to uphold this policy. Any breach is treated as a serious disciplinary matter and may result in termination of employment or contract, as well as referral to the relevant authorities where appropriate.
Our Operations and Workforce
Our workforce primarily consists of directly engaged staff and vetted subcontracted drivers and porters. We aim to provide fair working conditions, including clear terms of engagement, appropriate pay, and a safe working environment. We do not tolerate any form of coercion, intimidation, or improper deductions from pay.
We seek to work only with subcontractors who can demonstrate that they respect labour laws, provide lawful working conditions, and share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, storage facilities, and other supporting services. We expect all suppliers to comply with applicable labour, employment, and human rights legislation, and to operate with transparency and integrity.
To support this, we are implementing a risk-based approach to supplier audits. Higher-risk suppliers, such as those in labour-intensive or lower-cost sectors, may be subject to enhanced due diligence. This may include requesting evidence of their own modern slavery policies, reviewing employment practices, and assessing their subcontracting arrangements where relevant.
Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to address issues within a reasonable timeframe. If a supplier is unwilling or unable to rectify serious concerns, we reserve the right to review, suspend, or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Kentish Town encourages all employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and any other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our operations or supply chains.
Reports can be made verbally or in writing to management or through established internal reporting routes. Individuals raising genuine concerns will be supported and will not suffer any form of retaliation or detriment as a result of speaking up in good faith.
All reports will be taken seriously, reviewed promptly, and, where appropriate, investigated. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement and relevant agencies if modern slavery is suspected or identified.
Training and Awareness
We are working to build awareness among our staff and key subcontractors about the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns. This includes making this Statement accessible and discussing our expectations during onboarding and relevant meetings.
As our approach develops, we intend to provide more structured training to individuals who are directly involved in procurement, supplier management, and workforce engagement.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Preventing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Man with Van Kentish Town is committed to continuously improving its processes and controls as best practice and legal requirements evolve.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed at least once every twelve months, or more frequently if necessary in response to significant changes in our business operations or supply chains. The review will consider the effectiveness of our measures, lessons learned from any incidents or reports, and opportunities to strengthen our approach.
This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Man with Van Kentish Town and represents our firm commitment to uphold human rights, promote fair working practices, and combat modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms.
